Time Flies
Breaking a Transcontinental Flight Record
In July of 2003, two young pilots from Orange County, California set out in a DiamondStar DA-40 to break the transcontinental speed record for a plane in the weight class of 1000 kg or under. They flew to Kitty Hawk, NC in honor of the 100th year anniversary of the first flight by the Wright Brothers.
This is their story.
